House Library of Providence
This was a collaborative project with Emily Edelman. We proposed to re-appropriate an old house in Providence, Rhode Island, and turn it into a hybrid community center/library for people of all ages to relax, socialize, work, or gather information. The library includes conference rooms, community reading rooms, and a cafe.
The library uses a system of different furniture. Book shelves double as stairs in order to increase vertical space and modular furniture that can be raised to three different sizes to create seats and tables. These systems create the flexibility needed to change the spaces' needs to benefit all ages and settings.
The library also has a series of digital touch screens throughout that act as guides for visitors to navigate the library with ease.
